The Chancellor Merit Scholarship and the Chancellor Talent Scholarship are two types of scholarships offered by the university to students. For candidates seeking admittance to different undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Sister Nivedita University, the following scholarship schemes started from the academic year 2020-21:
Chancellor Merit Scholarship
A student securing more than or equal to 95% marks in the qualifying examination for diploma or undergraduate programs of study (i.e. class 10 for Diploma in Engineering, class 12 for undergraduate programs) and more than 75% marks in the qualifying examination for postgraduate programs of study (i.e. graduation examination for postgraduate programs) shall be eligible to get 100% scholarship which is equivalent to 100% of the tuition fee payable by the student.
Chancellor Talent Scholarship
Any talent in sports, performing arts (e.g., singing, dancing, drama, etc.), or visual arts (e.g., painting, sculpture, etc.) who has represented a state or nation in a national or international meet or performance and meets the eligibility criteria for admission to any undergraduate or postgraduate program of study may be offered a 50% scholarship, which is equal to 50% of the tuition fee payable by the student. Depending on the candidate's merit, the scholarship amount may be enhanced with the Vice Chancellor's consent.
Suppose a student receives 90 % or higher but less than 95 % in the qualifying examination for diploma or undergraduate programs of study or 70 % or higher but less than 75 % in the qualifying examination for postgraduate programs of study. In that case, the student is eligible for a 75 % tuition fee refund.
Suppose a student receives an 85 % or higher but less than 90 % on the qualifying examination for diploma or undergraduate programs of study or a 65 % or higher but less than 70 % on the qualifying examination for postgraduate programs of study. In that case, the student is eligible for a 50% tuition fee refund.
If a student receives an 80 % or above but less than 85 % on the qualifying test for a diploma or undergraduate program of study, the student will be entitled to a 25% tuition price reduction.
For admission to SNU, students must apply through the website. The grantees must submit to the college a declaration of scholarship format. Before applying for a scholarship, a student must sign a statement, which must be countersigned by a parent or guardian, stating that the scholarship recipient is aware that the scholarship will stay valid throughout the semesters and years. Unless the student's performance falls below the acceptable level, or disciplinary action has been taken against the student for whatever reason, as determined by the respective head of the department and communicated to the registrar's and Vice Chancellor's offices.
As a part of social obligation, after successfully graduating from university and being placed in a position, he or she must financially help a needy or economically disadvantaged youngster to pursue school. Furthermore, after assisting a needy or economically challenged youngster, he or she should inform the university of the information so that the university can record the given information.
